For over 20 years, our founder Matt Rathgeb built his reputation in Philadelphia under the name Rathgeb Painting. What started as a one-man operation grew into one of the region’s most trusted painting companies. Along the way, Matt faced challenges that could have ended his journey before it began. But through persistence, grit, and a commitment to doing right by every customer, he turned Rathgeb Painting into a household name across the city and suburbs.
In 2021, that reputation caught the attention of national entrepreneur Josh Skolnick, who saw in Matt’s business model something bigger—a system and culture worth sharing nationwide. Together, they launched Groovy Hues Painting, with Philadelphia as the flagship location and gold standard.
