Getting wallpaper off a wall cleanly, and leaving a surface that’s ready for paint, takes a systemic approach and the right tools. Here’s how we handle it:

1. Assessment & Planning: Before any removal begins, we evaluate the wallpaper type, the number of layers present, the wall material underneath, and whether the drywall was properly primed before the wallpaper was hung. This assessment directly informs our removal approach.
2. Room Preparation: We protect your floors, baseboards, electrical outlets, and all surrounding surfaces before work begins. Wallpaper removal involves moisture and scraping that can damage unprotected surfaces, so proper preparation limits any additional repairs.
3. Scoring: For vinyl-faced wallpapers and other non-porous materials, we score the surface carefully with a perforating tool to allow removal solution to reach the adhesive beneath. Scoring requires a careful touch. Too soft, and the moisture can’t get through to do its job. Too hard, and you can damage the wall underneath.
