    I’m Matthew Rathgeb, founder of Groovy Hues and owner of Groovy Hues Painting of Philadelphia. For over 20 years, I’ve been passionate about bringing color, peace, and professionalism to homes and businesses across the Greater Philadelphia area.

    What started as a one-man operation with a vision for better service has grown into one of the region’s most trusted painting companies—now the flagship franchise for Groovy Hues, a rapidly expanding national brand.

    Our local team serves Philadelphia, the Main Line, Bucks, Montgomery, and Delaware counties with a level of care and efficiency that’s anything but average.

    From the early days of personally quoting every job and brushing every wall myself, I knew this business had to stand for more than just paint. It had to be about trust, responsiveness, and quality that speaks for itself. That’s why every Groovy Hues experience is built on five core values: grind hard, serve others, win with integrity, wow every client, and always do the right thing—even when no one’s looking.

    As we’ve grown, we’ve stayed laser-focused on delivering a customer experience that’s fast, friendly, and friction-free. We offer same-day on-site estimates, flexible financing options (including no interest and no payments for a year), free color consultations, and full walk-throughs at the end of every project—because you shouldn’t pay until you're blown away by the results.

    When I’m not leading our growing team, you’ll find me spending time with my family, coaching others, or strategizing ways to keep raising the bar—not just in painting, but in how people feel when they work with us.

  • Michelle Reilly Sales Consultant
    My name is Michelle Reilly, and I serve as a  Consultant at Groovy Hues Painting. I’ve been with Groovy Hues for 3 years. I love being part of our clients' journey in bringing their dream space to life. It’s incredibly rewarding to guide them through every stage of the project, from the initial consultation to the final touches, and even maintaining a connection with them through our job anniversary check-ins. I don’t particularly have a favorite between interior, exterior, or cabinetry projects—I genuinely enjoy them all! My favorite part in any project though, is seeing the finished result and witnessing how happy the transformation makes our clients! Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my three children. Whether we’re going for a walk or enjoying a family game night, it’s always about creating fun moments together. We have a special way of turning even the simplest activities into a good time! I take immense pride in my work because I wholeheartedly believe in our company’s mission. Our goal is to deliver a top-tier client experience paired with the highest quality of workmanship. Every team member, from the first person answering the phone to the final painter, all share the same commitment to our core values. This makes working at Groovy Hues incredibly rewarding, and I feel truly honored to be part of such a special company.

    Hi, I’m Matthew Goff—your go-to sales consultant here at Groovy Hues. I’m driven by relationships, solutions, and service. My goal is to make every step of your painting experience feel easy, transparent, and tailored to you. I love what I do because it gives me the chance to help people create the spaces they’ve always dreamed of calling home.

    With a strong understanding of customer needs and a passion for solving problems, I take pride in bringing energy, clarity, and trust to every interaction. Whether it's your first time working with a painting company or you're ready for a complete refresh, I’m here to make it seamless and stress-free.

    Outside of work, you’ll find me at the gym, hanging out with my dogs, or soaking up quality time with my family. That’s where I find balance and the motivation to show up every day ready to serve you with excellence.

  • Leah McCray Chief Operating Officer

    Born and raised in the Fairmount neighborhood of Philadelphia, I’ve always had a deep love for this city and its people. I graduated from Temple University in 2023 and began my career in the hospitality world, working in food and beverage. While I learned so much from that industry, I made an exciting transition in April 2025 when I joined the Groovy Hues Painting team.

    Outside of work, you can find me cheering on our Philly sports teams, planning my next Thanksgiving getaway (a yearly tradition!), or exploring the city's best food and drink spots with my friends. Family is everything to me, and I especially love spending time with my adorable 1-year-old nephew.

    I’m so proud to be part of a company that helps people feel more at home in their space—and to be doing it in the city I love most.

  • Jacqueline Tomko Color Expert

    With years of experience in the field and a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, I bring a unique flair and level of expertise to each and every custom color consultation. With exuberance and a cheery disposition I excitedly work with my clients to achieve the vision
    they desire for both their interior and exterior needs.

    Listening attentively, I strive to understand each individual client’s style and personality, while taking into account their current, and future, furniture, to perfectly create the atmosphere my clients are looking for. With each project, large or small, I confidently guide my clients through the consultation process using my trained eye for color coordination and strong attention to detail, seeking perfection in all of my work.
